The article highlights automated process control system for the CoLine-3 unit installed in the Moscow Mint. Safe vacuum technology of applying optically transparent protective coatings on silver products is implemented in this unit's design. Experimental study of pneumatic actuator operation. Part 2
To accurately position the robot end-effector and hold it at the desired position under perturbation conditions, a pneumatic cylinder-positioner can be used provided that adequate control algorithms are available. The second part of the article is devoted to an experimental study of such a pneumatic actuator's operation and the development of control algorithms ensuring the positioning of a pneumatic cylinder-positioner piston rod with an accuracy of no more than 1 mm, even when a relatively slow position measuring device is available.

The control system for the upper gates of a ship lock
A ship lock is a complex hydraulic engineering facility. Many of them were built in the last century. They have been in operation for decades, and are now obsolete both physically and morally. The imperfect and unreliable relay control logic does not allow the required speed and positioning accuracy of the lock gates. This article describes the experience in modernization of the control system for the upper gates of a ship lock in Balakovo. The new PLC-based system not only radically improved the synchronization accuracy and travel speed of the lock gates, but also added many brand new features which would not be possible without the use of modern automation devices.

Automated control system for a standard force measuring machine

Robotized magnetic diagnostics complex for the rolls
The robotized complex for the magnetic diagnostics of the sheet mill rolls was developed and prepared for fullscale production. The complex is installed on the unwork side of a rollgrinding machine and can work with machines of any model. The measurement of coercive force allows for evaluating the nonuniformity of the roll surface. The use of coercive force measurement adds more information to the other diagnostics methods and substantially improves the reliability of assessment of the roll surface condition.

Intelligent Ethernet I/O modules make PLC more effective
Modern PLCs are successfully applied in monitoring and measuring systems.However with a rapid acquisition of measurements and signal analysis the PLCs have mettheir limits in many cases. Automated control system for the pneumatic tire dynamic test stand
The article describes the control system of the testrun stand for the dynamic tests of the pneumatic tires. An asynchronous servodrive is used to control the chassis dynamometer speed, and an electro hydraulic servodrive is employed to load the test tire. This ensures a high accuracy of the regulation of the setpoint speed of the chassis dynamometer and load on the test tire.
